The dominant wavelength of a color corresponds to the hue of the color observed by the human eye. The performance requirements specified in this industry standard can not be understood as the indicator of color uniformity of LED display. So, does it first guide users to understand the terms, then the measurement standard, or does it first understand and understand the full-color LED display from the perspective of customers, and then provide users with understandable and understandable performance characteristics?

4. Refresh frequency

From the point of view of measurement method, it seems to ignore the real concern of users. It also does not take into account the different driving IC, driving circuit and mode used by various manufacturers of full-color LED display, which leads to the difficulty of testing. Take the full-color LED display screen as a light source, that is, the flicker frequency of the light source. We can directly test the light source flicker frequency of full-color LED display screen with instruments similar to “light sensitive frequency meter” to reflect this index. We have done this test, using oscilloscope to measure any color of LED driving current waveform to determine the “refresh frequency”, 200 Hz measured in the white field; in the 3-level gray level and other low gray level, the measured frequency is as high as more than 10 kHz, and measured with PR-650 spectrometer; whether in the white field, or in the gray level of 200, 100, 50, the measured light source flicker frequency is 200 Hz.

The above points are just a simple description of the characteristics of several full-color LED displays. There are also many “working life”, “mean time between failure” and so on encountered in the bidding. No test method can confirm whether the LED display meets the requirements of stability, reliability or life in a short time; these requirements should not be specified. The producer can make a guarantee, but it can not replace the requirement. It is a business concept, a contract concept, not a technical concept. The industry should have a clear statement on this, which will be very beneficial to users, producers and the whole industry.
